Bloomfield Junior Soccer Association is always looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteer coaches to help create a positive soccer experience for our players. Whether you have years of coaching experience or are brand new to the game, BJSA provides resources and support to help you succeed.

Our coaches play a vital role in developing not only soccer skills, but also confidence, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and respect.

Why Coach with BJSA?

Coaching is one of the most rewarding ways to give back to the community. As a volunteer coach, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Make a positive impact on young athletes
  • Teach teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship
  • Build lasting relationships with players and families
  • Learn and grow as a leader
  • Stay active and involved in the Bloomfield community
  • Help children develop a lifelong love for soccer

Coach Registration Reimbursement

As a thank you for volunteering your time, BJSA will fully reimburse your child's seasonal registration fee once the following requirements have been met:

  • Your child is registered with BJSA during the season you are coaching.
  • You fulfill your coaching responsibilities through the end of the season.
  • You remain in good standing with BJSA throughout the season.

This reimbursement is our way of recognizing the countless hours our volunteer coaches dedicate to preparing practices, coaching games, communicating with families, and supporting player development.

Coaching Assignments

While we understand many parents volunteer to coach because their child plays in our program, BJSA cannot guarantee that you will coach your child's team.

Coaches are assigned based on several factors, including:

  • Age group needs
  • Number of registered players
  • Number of volunteer coaches
  • Team balance
  • Coaching experience
  • Conflict of interest considerations

Our primary goal is to create the best possible experience for all players while ensuring every team has qualified and committed coaches.

Coach Expectations

All BJSA coaches are expected to:

  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Treat every player with respect and fairness.
  • Encourage good sportsmanship.
  • Attend practices and games consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and players.
  • Complete required coaching certifications and training.
  • Complete SafeSport training (if required).
  • Successfully pass any required background screening.
  • Follow BJSA, CJSA, and US Soccer policies.

No prior coaching experience is required—just a willingness to learn, encourage, and support our players.
